Steve Irwin, the slightly off, but wildly popular Australian wildlife show host is dead, taking a stingray barb to the heart. Everytime I saw this guy on TV, my thought was "Matter of time for this guy..." only to have that thought diminish, year after year as he survived Grizzly Man style encounters by the dozens. I have no doubt that much media criticism will follow, some of it undoubtedly deserved.
While I found Iriwn entertaining (albeit in small amounts) I considered him plumb crazy.
